La Roche-Posay: Hyalu B5 Serum - Review

I have tried many different skin serums since I started to take care of my skin. Despite having a fairly good experience with many compounds, I always seem to go back to Hyaluronic Acid-based serums. HA is ideal for any skin type but if you struggle with dryness and dehydrated skin, HA will be your holy grail. 

After trying more hyaluronic acid serums than I can count I finally decided to try out the popular La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Serum. There are many people who do not like LRP very much but this brand works really well for my skin and there is only one product from this brand I kinda have a beef with. 

The serum comes in a 30 ml glass bottle with a pipette applicator. It is a thick liquid with some viscosity to it. I must admit that my first impression was not the best as I was worried the serum will leave a nasty sticky layer on my skin as most of the serums with a similar texture do. This is luckily not the case at all. The serum absorbs well and quickly without leaving any residue. The skin feels smooth, hydrated and fresh just after application. 

I have been using this serum shortly over one month and I am happy with it. I have about 1/4 of the product left so one package lasts for 5-6 weeks when used every morning and evening. I like the serum very much. It worked as described - makes skin hydrated, refreshed, gives it more elasticity and I think it did even out my skin tone.... however that may be due to the fact I got a touch of tan when I was in Croatia. My skin feels really soft and cool to the touch. The only downside is the touch of perfume added to the product (why do the brands still use perfume in their skincare??) - I do not mind but it can be irritating for some people. 

This is a very decent hyaluronic acid serum but I would expect nothing else from LRP especially considering the price. If you are looking for something less pricey, I can recommend the Hyaluronic Acid serum from Mizon. It is not as strong but still does the job very well.
