Without a doubt, La Vie Est Belle is one of the most popular perfume collections out there and it is still growing. I must admit, Lancome's original La Vie Est Belle EDP is not my cup of tea. On the other hand, I really like the smell of most of the other versions of this perfume. My favourite one is the La Vie Est Belle Soleil Cristal.
The La Vie Est Belle Soleil Cristal was released earlier this year and it comes in two sizes - 50ml and 100ml. The glass bottle looks the same as the original version but it has an iridescent finish on top. The bottle is nice and classy.
Compared to the original version, the Soleil Cristal is creamier and juicier. The scent is not as powdery and that's mainly the reason I like this one the best. The scent is warm and feminine. I can definitely smell vanilla with a very subtle hint of citrus and more prominent coconut.
Top Notes: Bergamot Oil, Mandarin Oil, Red Pepper
Middle Notes: Coconut, Jasmine Absolute, Orange Blossom
Base Notes: Bourbon Vanilla, Iris, Patchouli
What I noticed is that, unlike most perfumes, this one does not change over time. Most perfumes unravel their heart base notes over time but the Soleil Cristal mostly stays the same. You can smell the base notes from the very start and if you focus on it, you can smell the top notes even after the end of the day.
Although the perfume is heavier because of the warm and sweet touch of this scent, I can still wear it over the summer. It actually seems like a perfect fit for a warm summer evening (and I cannot wait to wear it in the few weeks in Croatia!).
Like most of the Lancome perfumes, this one also is one of the scents you will smell even at the end of the day (and sometimes even after the shower). If you like Armani Sí, there is a high chance you will like this perfume too. It is not the same but it has a similar base so if you want to mix it up a little, give Soleil Cristal a chance. I am sure you will not regret it.
