I have “discovered” the beauty world of Bobbi Brown just recently and I cannot believe it took me so long to add some of her products to my makeup collection. After a successful run with the Luxe Glow kit, I felt compelled to try something else - this time her iconic weightless foundation.
The Skin Long-Wear Weightless foundation comes in a 30 ml glass bottle with a pump. Nothing too exciting here but let me tell you, the bottle is very photogenic despite being simple and quite ordinary. There are about thirty shades available.
The formula is very light, I don’t think I have ever used a foundation as light before. It promises full coverage, however, I would class it as a medium to light. It is buildable so you can probably achieve the full coverage effect but you will have to use more of the product. In general, I need to use about three pumps to cover my whole face which is more than what I am used to when it comes to high-end foundations so I am not sure how long will this bottle last.
At the same time, it is truly a long-wear foundation. It stays on as long as you need without having to re-apply. If I still worked long shifts in a bar, this would be the foundation of my choice because if it can survive the scottish heatwave, it can survive anything. Because the foundation is light, it feels like I don’t have anything on my face and my skin feels like it can breathe.
The weight-less foundation offers a touch of narural/matte finish (just a touch, nothing too crazy). It does not dry my skin (unlike many other long-wear foundations) but you cannot go wrong with a hydrating primer if you struggle with dry skin like myself.
Note I have only the foundation on, no primer or concealer. The picture was taken using a ring light. |
Overall, I really like it especially since it is one of the very few foundations that does not oxidise at all and matches my skin tone. And being able to rely on a foundation even in the heat and with a face mask on is always a huge advantage. Obviously, if I picked this foundation hoping for a full coverage foundation, I would be disappointed, but if you are on a hunt for medium or lighter coverage, you should check this one out. And don’t forget you can buy a mini version ofe this foundation too!
First off, your photos are gorgeous! :) And when it comes to the product itself, it looks really interesting, I have never seen it before :)
