OLAPLEX:HOT OR NOT?

AD - Some products were gifted

This post has been in making for about 10 months. Last year I tried some Olaplex products for the first time and I have been implementing them into my haircare routine ever since. I believe that I am now in a good position to share my thoughts and experiences with Olaplex.

My first Olaplex product was a conditioner. It usually comes in a 250ml bottle and the price goes between £20 and £30. It is pricier, yes, however, this bottle lasted me for whole six months so the cost is actually not bad at all. The bottle lasts for so long because only a small amount is required. For example, I use only a hazelnut size amount of the conditioner. And as you probably know, my hair is fairly long.

At first, I was worried the conditioner will be too heavy for my hair but this turned out not to be the case at all. It is very nourishing but it does not leave my hair greasy at all. Over the past few months, it helped me to maintain my hair nice and healthy despite using a curling iron on a regular basis. Obviously, there is nothing you can do when your ends split, but I believe this conditioner maintains them without damage for as long as possible. I also noticed an improvement in the overall volume but that may be due to a change in my haircare routine in general.

Overall, I love it and I already re-purchased it. I cannot imagine using anything else now and that's why I was reluctant to give a shot to some other Olaplex products - for the case I could not go without them anymore. I know I said the price of Olaplex products is not too bad considering how often I need to repurchase but imagine buying all of their products at once. Nevertheless, I decided to buy the Olaplex Trial kit. The kit contains four travel-size products - No3 Hair Perfector, No4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo, No5 Conditioner and No6 Bond Smoothener.

I am not going to go into too much detail but I think each of the products is great. However, I don't think all of them are necessary. Don't get me wrong, each of them works well but I don't think you need them all to see an improvement. Pick one and you will see the difference. The rest will be an ad-on. Obviously, if you have very damaged hair, the whole range is probably the way to go. But if you are like me and your hair is not too bad, stick to one of the Olaplex products of your choice and it will still deliver the promised results. For me, the number one is defo the conditioner. I would bath in it if I could haha.

Last but not least, I decided to face my fears of hair oils and got myself to try out the No7 Bonding Oil. It comes in a small 30ml bottle and it does not seem as much but once again, only a few drops of the oil are needed. You can apply it on dry or damp hair, it's really up to you. It reduces frizz and makes the hair shiny. It apparently can be used as a hair protector against heat but I personally prefer using different products for that purpose.

Once again, I liked it. I am surprisingly pleased considering hair oils usually do not agree with my hair. Bonding oil is super light and leaves my hair nice and shiny. I love using it after curling my hair as the oil makes the curls look smooth and gives them a healthy glow.

As you can probably tell, I love Olaplex. The conditioner is my holy grail and I would encourage everyone to try it, especially if your hair is dry and dull.
