Mizon: Hyaluronic Acid 100 serum - Review

It’s been a while since the last time I reviewed skincare here. Today we will talk about Original Skin Energy Hyaluronic Acid 100 serum from Mizon. I am a huge fan of hyaluronic acid and I had a fantastic experience with Mizon and their strawberry mask so I decided to try their Hyaluronic Acid serum. Mizon is a beloved Korean skincare brand and I am surprised it is not hyped more here in the UK. 

O sérech jsme si tu už delší dobu nepovídali, a tak je na čase to změnit. Vyzkoušela jsem totiž sérum Original Skin Energy Hyaluronic Acid 100 od Mizonu. Séra s kyselinou hyaluronovou mám nejraději, protože jsem si naprosto zamilovala jahodovou plátýnkovou masku od Mizonu, bylo na čase vyzkoušet i tohle sérum. Mizon je značka kvalitní korejské pleťové kosmetiky, která v Česku nabývá na popularitě.

The serum comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a pipette. This serum did last about two months when using once a day (1-2 pipettes per use). The serum is runny and gets absorbed very quickly without any residues on the skin. That’s why I like to use it as a day serum in the morning - no interfering with my makeup routine. 

Sérum se prodává ve 30ml skleněné lahvičce s pipetkou. Sérum mi vydrželo něco málo přes dva měsíce při každodenním používání (jedna až dvě pipetky jednou denně). Je poměrně řídké a pleť jej absorbuje během chviličky do poslední kapky. Nemusíte se tedy bát nějakých zbytků a povlaků. Především proto jej používám hlavně ráno - nepřekáží mi, když se chci hned poté nalíčit.

This serum gives a skin an immediate hydration boost and I could see that just after first use. After about a month, it got the way too much for my skin and I had to swap to lighter face cream which helped a lot and I found a perfect balance. 

Pleť dostane hned po prvním kontaktu se sérem velkou dávku hydratace, což bylo vidět hned po prvním použití. Po měsíci toho ale začalo být trochu moc, a tak jsem musela vyměnit svůj hutný pleťový krém za něco lehčího a najít nějakou rovnováhu. Až takhle efektivní tohle sérum je.

The serum is therefore very powerful. I sometimes do not even use cream (when I know I will be wearing a face mask for a longer period of time) and the serum is just fine on its own. That’s why I would recommend it if you are struggling with face mask acne (apparently that is a thing now) - it is recommended to sometimes even skip face cream so it is important to find a good serum that will have your back. 
Towards the end of testing (2 months), I noticed my face seems to have a glow and seems plumbed. 

Můžu tedy s klidem říct, že sérum je poměrně silné. Čas od času ani nemusím používat krém, což se hodí v dny, kdy nosím venku roušku (prý je dobré krém i vynechat pokud vám pleť díky nošení roušky dělá psí kusy). Sérum totiž zvládne dodat dostatečnou dávku hydratace i bez krému. Nicméně v dlouhodobém měřítku bych vynechávání krému nedoporučila. 

Ke konci testování jsem si všimla, že oproti začátku mám trochu zdravěji vypadají pleť, která má takový ten zdravý lesk. 

As much as I liked it, my top hyaluronic serum is still the Mineral 89 from Vichy. The one from Mizon has a better ingredient list and gets absorbed faster however Vichy just suits me better, at least in the UK. When I went on holidays to the Czech Republic, the serum from Mizon was a gift from heaven. I mentioned already that the air is very dry in the Czech Republic so my skincare has to be tweaked when I am there and this serum did exceptionally well - I run out halfway through the time in the Czech Republic and there was a huge difference between using and not using the serum when it comes to hydration. Next time I come over, I will probably buy another bottle just to have it at my parents’ flat. I will stick to Mineral 89 when I am in the UK. 

I přes to, že je sérum účinné, mým favoritem zůstává i nadále Mineral 89 od Vichy. Tohle od Mizonu má sice lepší složení a lépe se vstřebává, ale mně prostě sedí lépe to od Vichy. Je tedy pravda, že při dovolené v ČR jsem sérum od Mizonu opravdu ocenila. Díky českému suchému prostředí mívám na návštěvách doma hodně suchou pleť a má běžná rutina nestačí. V tomto ohledu mi Mizon hodně pomohl, takže přemýšlím, že si jej pořídím znovu a nechám ho u našich:) 

PS: With the cloud of the second wave floating above our heads I would recommend getting yourself a cleansing hand gel. I am not the one to bulk buy but I like to have one or two hand gels around and with the numbers not looking I want to be prepared. Check out the link, there is a good selection.
