I am talking about a fragrance from the iconic Anthology collection. This entire collection was inspired by tarot cards. The third fragrance called 3 L'Impératrice, which in translation means the empress, was originally represented by Naomi Campbel (Uhm, queen!) and it is as iconic as she is.
This fragrance is absolutely perfect for summer. Imagine a basket of fruit with a hint of flowers (I smell lilies even tho they are not a part of the scent) and that's how this toilette smells. It comes in a simple glass bottle which I absolutely love. It is practical and you can fit it to any handbag. The only downside is that the bottle is quite heavy (for a fragrance).
Top Notes: Pink Pepper, Rhubarb, Kiwi
Heart: Jasmine, Melon, Cyclamen
Base: Musk, Citron Wood, Sandalwood
As I already mentioned, the scent is very summery. I have seen people describing it as very light but I think that is incorrect. The scent is quite fresh but also fairly sweet which pushes it onto the heavier side, at least for eau de toilette (they tend to be very light).. well in my opinion. I think the sweet composition gives this fragrance all the desirable features of the perfume such as intensity and longevity. It lasts for up to 6 hours - I usually spray the fragrance onto myself in the morning and I can still smell it at the of my working day. Let's be honest, that's better than many perfumes so kudos to L'impératrice and D&G for that.
Overall, I am delighted. To be perfectly honest with you, I am not usually a big fan of the Dolce & Gabbana perfumes as they tend to be too musky for me but their fragrances in their Eau the toilette category are fantastic (The Light Blue one is just yum!) including this one. Here I can smell rhubarb, pear (for any reason), grapefruit and lilies and to me, this scent is how I would express the vibes I am getting from the Dolce&Gabbana fashion style - passionate, vibrant, refreshing, unique.
