NUXE: ENERGISING PRIMING CONCENTRATE

* AD - this product was gifted to me for a review

It’s been a while since I posted a review of some skincare product mainly because testing of skincare takes time. After two months of using the Energising Priming Concentrate Creme Prodigieuse Boost from Nuxe on a daily basis, I can share my thoughts on this product.

This serum/lotion/concentrate was inspired by Korean skincare and from my understanding, it is sort of a combination of tonic, serum and moisturiser. I am not really fond of all-in-one skincare so I was using it as a serum alongside my usual tonic and moisturiser. The product itself has a serum-like structure anyways and considering the whole collection, I don't think Nuxe ever meant this product to be used as a 3-in-1 product either.

This serum combines hyaluronic acid, that is a fantastic choice for dehydrated skin, with Vitamin C which should fight against fine lines and most importantly it brightens the skin. It is also rich in antioxidants thanks to extracts from Jasmine Flower.

The serum comes in a large 100 ml bottle with a pump that sucks the bottom up and pushes the product out of the tube which means you get to enjoy all the content of the tube (bottles with a pump attached to a tube are usually not so great since a large amount of a product will never make it out of the bottle). The bottle lasts for about three months which is actually quite good.

At first, I did not see much improvement and I nearly gave this lotion up. It was not enough when it comes to hydration that I usually get from my other hyaluronic acid serums and my skin was getting pretty unhappy. However, I got eventually used to it and after about a month I started to see that my skin is so much softer and brighter which I assume is the work of Vitamin C.

Overall, it's ok. I think the effect of Vitamin C is well recognisable (if you actually use it for long enough) while I was not fully convinced by the effect of hyaluronic acid. I am really missing the rich hydration boost I usually get from hyaluronic acid-based products but that's just my personal preference. You will get some hydration out of it but this concentrate is not as powerful as other hyaluronic acid serums. I will probably return to Mineral 89 serum from Vichy which I love a lot. However, I think this product is a good way to introduce your skin to a Vitamin C based skincare (sometimes it can be a bit too strong while this product seems to ease the skin into it quite well). The amount of product you get for the price is also very generous so it's actually not bad at all. I would just say you may be careful with this product if you have sensitive skin because this lotion is fragranced.
